BEIJING ESSEN WELDING & CUTTING, the largest welding trade fair in the Asian region, begins today

BEIJING ESSEN WELDING & CUTTING, the leading welding trade fair for the industry in the Asian region, opens today its doors for the 24th time. Until friday, 28 June, over 1,000 exhibitors will be presenting their products and services in a display area of more than 87,000 square metres in the Shanghai New International Expo Center. Thomas Kufen, lord mayor of Essen, opened the trade fair together with the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society and the DVS – German Welding Society.

Products related to welding and cutting are in high demand in China: with monthly production of 85 million tonnes of steel, this country is the global leader and therefore also has a corresponding requirement for further processing.  BEIJING ESSEN WELDING & CUTTING offers visitors the ideal platform to seek information concerning the innovations in the key technologies involved in joining, cutting and coating, as well as to share ideas and to order products. The importance of the trade fair is also highlighted by the strong interest shown by exhibitors. More than 1,000 national and international companies registered for the second largest trade fair for the industry straight after the world-leading trade fair SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN (Essen, Germany).

“Made in Germany” is very popular

Companies have the opportunity to offer a concise overview of their services at the numerous international pavilion stands, including the German Pavilion, which has increased in size by 38 per cent compared with the last event in Shanghai as a result of the high demand. 25 companies have a presence at the pavilion stand which is promoted by the German Federal Ministry of the Economy, where they will showcase their “Made in Germany” products.

In addition to the high-quality exhibitor presentations, BEIJING ESSEN WELDING & CUTTING offers a great many options for further education. Experts will be sharing their knowledge at the conference entitled “IFWT 2019 Welding and Joining for Intelligent Manufacturing Fusion and Diffusion of Sparkling Ideas” and at the “China Welding Industry Forum 2019”

Messe Essen’s most significant overseas project

This year, too, event organisers are delighted that well-known companies such as KUKA, Yaskawa, ESAB, ABB and Golden Bridge are participating. But numerous niche providers and young companies also make use of the trade fair to introduce themselves to the trade public, to make contacts and to generate sales. With more than 1,000 exhibitors from 30 countries, this trade fair is Messe Essen’s largest overseas project.
