From September 25 to 29, 2017: 19th SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN Starts with Many Highlights

Since today, SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN 2017 has opened its doors to the trade public. The festive start of the world´s leading trade fair for joining, cutting and surfacing featured guests from the sporting, political and economic fields and was compered by Rudi Cerne already took place in the previous evening. Right on time for the start of the period, around 1,000 exhibitors from 41 nations are now presenting their eagerly awaited ranges on offer - including numerous world premieres. SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN which is jointly staged by Messe Essen and the German Welding Society (DVS) will still last until September 29. Until then, the organisers are expecting a total of 55,000 visitors from more than 130 countries. In 2013, the volume of investments made at the trade fair was Euro 1,500,000,000. Because of the ongoing modernisation of Messe Essen, the event is making a one-off guest appearance in Düsseldorf in 2017.

Over decades, SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN has become established as a permanent institution. In a regular four-year cycle, the international specialist world of joining, cutting and surfacing demonstrates its innovative force at the world's premier fair. Not only all the greats in the sector but also many young, innovative companies are represented at the fair this time.

They stand for products, processes and services from automobile and vehicle construction, shipbuilding, mechanical and installation engineering, pipe fabrication and pipeline construction, mining as well as the building trade, the chemical industry and the manufacture of metal products. Amongst other exhibits, it is possible to see production installations and robots on booths with futuristic arrangements in part. A new subject concept is ensuring optimum visitor guidance in the halls.

However, the world's premier fair is not only a showcase for new products, processes and services but is also becoming a significant platform for the exchange of specialist ideas with the DVS CONGRESS in the top-class supporting programme. This year, the DVS CONGRESS with the Annual Welding Conference (GST) and the DVS Student Congress is taking place in the East Congress Centre at Messe Düsseldorf from September 26 to 29 on the initiative of DVS. Furthermore, the stage on the DVS joint booth is the showcase for many other items on the agenda. These include daily DVS‑TV talk circles, interviews, presentation ceremonies and much more. Another highlight is being provided by various welding trainers on which competitions are being held every day.

Young Welders Provide Proof of Their Talent

The Young Welders' Competitions are being staged in Hall 14. The most talented young welders are competing against each other there: Germany's most promising talents are being sought by the National "Young Welders" Competition until September 26, followed by the WELDCUP on the European level. Participants from various nations will gauge their specialist ability in the International Competition. The winners will be announced in the course of SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN.

Still until September 29, SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN 2017 is inviting the specialist world to Düsseldorf. From September 13 to 17, 2021, SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN will, as accustomed, take place in Essen again - then on one of the technically most modern fair sites in Germany.
