Listen, look and inform – DVS CONGRESS 2017

Experts in joining technology appreciate first-hand information which they obtain annually at the renowned DVS CONGRESS. This year, the well-known lecture event staged by the German Welding Society (DVS) will be particularly significant: Because the DVS CONGRESS will take place within the framework of the world's premier fair, SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN. From September 26 to 29, "Listen, look and inform" will be the motto during the combination of a congress and an exhibition.

"The participants will listen to the lectures at the DVS CONGRESS, all the guests will look at the range of products on offer at SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN and everybody will obtain information not only at the fair but also from us at the congress," was the summary made by Simone Weinreich, the Head of the "Transfer and Network" Department in DVS and the person responsible for the organisation of the DVS CONGRESS. For the society, the DVS CONGRESS is a sensible supplement to SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN which will already open its doors on September 25. Under the roof of the DVS CONGRESS, the Annual Welding Conference will offer over 90 lectures on diverse subjects, e.g. "additive manufacturing", "arc welding", "structural steel engineering" and "vehicle construction". Notable speakers in the sector will report on the state of the art, introduce future developments and offer solutions in the event of any problematical cases. "In a thematically appropriate way for the lectures, we will offer 15 podium discussions on the DVS joint booth in Hall 15," explained Weinreich. "Thus, it will be possible to hold detailed discussions about any outstanding questions with experts in the sector."

The DVS CONGRESS will also include the DVS Student Congress which must not be missing this year either. It will offer students and young engineers dealing with joining technology a forum in which they will be able to introduce their scientific papers to an interested trade public. This series of lectures will climax when both the best presentations are distinguished with the DVS Young Welders' Award on the stage of the DVS joint booth on September 26.
