SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN 2021 with new Topics

Exhibitors looking forward to the first edition at the modernized Messe Essen

The 20th international trade fair SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN will take place from 13 to 17 September 2021 at Messe Essen. One thing is already certain: The anniversary edition of the world-leading event will be a very special one. Because it will take place for the first time at the modernized Messe Essen. Oliver P. Kuhrt, CEO of Messe Essen: "Exhibitors and visitors of SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN will benefit from an open, functional architecture, short distances, eight spacious, single-storey halls and plenty of daylight.“

This modernization is accompanied by a thematic rearrangement of the exhibition areas. That makes it easier for participants to find their way around. Several connected halls have been reserved for the areas of surface technology/heat treatment, gas, supplies and filler materials, equipment, safety and health. Companies involved in welding and joining have their place in the Galeria as well as in halls 2, 4, 5 and 6. The exhibitor interest in the welding sector was so great that this presentation area has already been expanded into parts of Hall 2, where related solutions for filler materials and quality assurance will also be on display. Another part of hall 6 as well as the complete hall 7 are reserved for exhibitors from the cutting sector. Services and digitization offerings will be located in the exhibition hall directly at the new East Entrance.

The German Welding Society DVS as a long-standing partner of Messe Essen is looking forward to SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN in the modern exhibition halls. "Since the premiere of SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN in 1952, Messe Essen and the DVS have this successful co-operation. It makes us happy to codesign the 20th edition of the leading fair in the new fair halls”, states DVS managing director Dr. Roland Boecking.

Exhibitors are looking forward to the 2021 edition of the fair

"Of course, as everywhere else, we are registering a slight reluctance due to the Corona pandemic. At the same time, we are also feeling the absolute desire to finally meet again and move business forward together," says CEO Oliver P. Kuhrt. His team has designed a comprehensive hygiene protection concept that recently demonstrated its viability at international trade fairs.

Some companies will even present themselves significantly larger in 2021. Right at the forefront is MicroStep. Johannes Ried, Managing Director of MicroStep Europa GmbH: "The leading trade fair SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN is an absolute highlight, which is appreciated by exhibitors and visitors alike. Against this background, we have decided to significantly expand our presence there: At the largest trade fair stand in our company's history, we will present live in action in 2021 what we have to offer in the plasma, laser, oxyfuel and waterjet sectors, as well as in the automation and digitization sectors.”

Supporting program completes the trade fair visit

With conferences, competitions and thematic joint stands, SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN will offer its visitors and exhibitors further added value. Thus the participants can inform themselves compactly at joint stands from Korea, Taiwan, Japan, the USA, France and China about the offer of the respective countries. Also planned are a diving container for underwater welders and demonstrations of robot welding.

The German Welding Society is also currently preparing various trade fair activities. DVS managing director Dr. Boecking explains: "The planning for the joint DVS stand and for further highlights, such as the 'Young Welders Competition', which consists of the German DVS competition 'Jugend schweißt' and the 'International Welding Competition', is in full swing. Ten nations have already registered for the international competition, and for the first time, we can welcome a team from Cameroon/Central Africa.” The DVS CONGRESS will also complement the SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN thematically with its extensive lecture program.
