ASR, the Romanian Welding Society, is a non-governmental organisation founded in 1990 with the aim of promoting welding and joining through:

·  acquisition, and dissemination of scientific and technical knowledge in the field of welding

·  contacts between individuals and groups of specialists interested in promoting the welding in the national economy

·  integration in the field of welding and joining in the scientific international community

·  promotion of the standardization at international level

·  promotion of the application of modern welding processes

·  implementation of a qualification system of personnel in the field of welding on the basis of the IIW-IAB/EWF guidelines.
