The SSW Tool Holder by Keihin Ramtech is an innovative friction stir welding (FSW) tool that can be mounted on the automatic tool changer (ATC) of existing cutting machines, eliminating the need for dedicated FSW equipment. At its core is Synchronized Stir Welding (SSW)—a patented process using micro-vibrations in both rotational and vertical directions to enable precise, defect-free fusion at low temperatures (around 150°C).
Key benefits include twice the welding speed of traditional FSW, 95% tensile strength compared to base material, and a smaller shoulder diameter without the need for a tool tilt angle. Its compatibility with compact setups makes it ideal for applications requiring high precision and strength.
