„Connected Welding: Seamless Integration for Quality and Efficiency“

How can welding production processes be made more efficient, stable, and transparent? This presentation explores how automation and digitalization across the entire welding manufacturing chain can ensure consistent quality, enable end-to-end part tracking, and significantly boost productivity. The focus lies on the integration of intelligent systems that stabilize processes, reduce variability, and create a data-driven foundation for continuous improvement in welding operations.

"Smart Welding, Smart Cutting, Smart Future: Wie XFLARE die Metallbearbeitung revolutioniert"

Welding and cutting processes are coming under increasing pressure - not because of a lack of orders, but due to a shortage of skilled workers, increasing documentation requirements and growing quality demands, while at the same time the requirements to produce more sustainably, flexibly and digitally are increasing. Companies need to respond to this with new solutions and targeted automation. However, small and medium-sized companies in particular quickly reach their limits when it comes to implementation. The result is a structural competitive disadvantage in the production organisation. If there is a lack of qualified personnel or if the systems used reach their limits in terms of operability, flexibility or process reliability, production comes to a standstill and work steps such as demanding seams or precise cuts have to be outsourced at great expense in terms of time and money.

This is where XFLARE comes in: For the first time, welding and cutting processes are intelligently linked on a single production platform. The system automatically records process data, makes it visible and transforms traditional manual labour into reproducible, documented quality. Pre-programmed parameters, assistance functions and Industry 4.0 connections enable even less experienced employees to achieve high-precision results - from the first to the last component.

At the same time, the way in which work is performed in production is changing.

"Welding camera as a tool for interactive and iterative learning: Towards analytical and evolving welding skills"

The use of a welding camera and interactive learning materials in welding education enables uninterrupted real-time monitoring and interactive learning at both individual and group levels. The streaming and recording of welding support the integration of theoretical and practical instruction, allowing for visual feedback and performance evaluation. Iterative practice using the camera improves the learner’s welding quality and the ability to effectively identify critical details.

"Networked welding fume sensors: making hidden dangers visible and saving energy"

Networked welding fume sensors mark a significant advance in employee protection by making previously hidden dangers visible in real time. The systems, which are easy to install, create transparency about actual exposure and enable considerable energy savings by integrating them into the control of extraction systems. In addition, this innovation paves the way for comprehensively networked sensor technology for all aspects of welding processes - from occupational safety to quality monitoring and automation.

"IndustryFusion-X: The open path to the digital factory - practice-oriented, secure and manufacturer-independent"

The demands on machine manufacturers and factory operators are increasing: Customers are demanding networked systems, energy efficiency, digital verification and transparent production data. Proprietary individual solutions quickly reach their limits here. IndustryFusion-X (IF-X) offers an open and practical alternative: a cross-manufacturer platform that connects machines and systems via standardized interfaces, semantically processes process data and enables secure data exchange with digital services - from the edge to the cloud.

In this presentation, we will show how machine manufacturers can use IF-X to connect their control technology in a future-proof way and open up new business models - and how factory operators can benefit directly from transparency, automation and sovereignty over their data. Finally, we take a look ahead: based on IF-X, practical extensions are currently being developed that create real added value for users. With X-Ana, the AI-supported assistant directly on the machine, we are improving operability, maintenance and access to knowledge in production. Equipment-as-a-Service opens up new ways for machine manufacturers to build customer loyalty through usage-based billing models. And X-Share is an open platform on which production resources can be securely shared and made available across locations.
