From September 15 to 19, 2025, SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN once again brings together the global community of professionals involved in joining, cutting, and surfacing at Messe Essen. A standout feature of this world-leading trade fair is the premiere of the Future Hub in Hall 7. Designed as a central communication platform, the Future Hub presents cutting-edge technologies and hands-on innovations while fostering interdisciplinary dialogue. Industry experts, companies, start-ups, and young professionals will gather here to address the current challenges and opportunities shaping the welding and cutting sectors. Key topics include digitalization, sustainability, and workforce development.

Formats such as moderated talks, best-practice sessions, panel discussions, and talent-oriented events will encourage intensive dialogue among stakeholders. Additional highlights include meet-and-greets with industry leaders and prominent influencers offering fresh insights into communication, careers, and collaboration in the digital age.
First program highlights are set
An exciting line-up is already taking shape: Benedikt Allebrodt from Durum will speak about innovative materials for thermal surfacing, highlighting high-alloy seamless cored wires designed to enhance reliability and efficiency in wear and corrosion protection applications. Juha Ensio Kauhanen from Savo Vocational College in Finland will show in an English-language presentation how real-time feedback and performance analysis can take training to a whole new level.
Samuel Mann of welded.io will provide insights into connected welding fume sensors that not only detect hazardous emissions but also enable energy-efficient process control — an important step toward both occupational safety and automation. The program will be complemented by a presentation by Clemens Müller from RWTH Aachen on the surfacing of punching dies used in progressive tools, and an international panel discussion on resource-saving cleaning processes, including Olaf Reuter from Reuter.
Interactive participation for exhibitors and visitors
The Future Hub in Hall 7 will be a must-visit destination for anyone looking to actively shape the future of welding and cutting technology. Further program highlights are already being planned - covering topics such as women in industry, the role of social media in technical communication, recruitment strategies, and start-ups in the industrial transformation.
In addition to the stage program, the Future Hub also offers ample opportunities for active participation. Exhibitors can use the platform to present their company, current projects and new products to an interested specialist audience. Themed guided tours will also start and end at the Future Hub. Popular content creator Igor Welder will be on-site, performing live welding demonstrations. Visitors will have the opportunity to try their hand at welding and create a personalized souvenir to take home.
