"Young Innovators“ showcase the future of the industry in hall 3

Under the motto “Join the Future”, SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN will present everything related to joining, cutting and surfacing technologies from 15 to 19 September 2025. Alongside key issues such as digitalisation, sustainability and attracting skilled professionals, the world’s leading trade fair will also shine a spotlight on start-ups bringing exciting product innovations to the table. At the shared “Young Innovators” stand in Hall 3, trade fair visitors can look forward to a glimpse of the industry's future, thanks to the diverse ideas of these emerging companies – all of which are based in Germany.

The future isn’t just knocking on the door at SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN – it is already here in the halls of Messe Essen. Anyone keen to see what is driving the industry forward will not have to look far. One place to start is the “Young Innovators” stand (Stand 3A47), where young German companies will be showcasing their unique visions for a positive transformation of the working world.

Among them is Latai GmbH, which aims to improve occupational safety across the industry. The company is presenting “Dustlight”, a fine dust warning device worn on the body during work, which provides real-time alerts when exposure limits are exceeded. Whether in the workshop or out in the field, its traffic light warning system, coupled with a connected app, makes even microscopic hazards measurable.

Workplace safety is also a key focus for PETEC Verbindungstechnik GmbH. Its work and assembly tables are designed to bear heavy loads while still allowing for safe height adjustment, thanks to a patented gearbox. This prevents the table surface from accidentally collapsing under weight. At SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN 2025, the company will be exhibiting height-adjustable welding tables capable of withstanding up to 5,000 kilograms or offering electrically adjustable surfaces.

MHC GmbH offers another glimpse into the workspaces of the future. With its innovative fixtures for the working environment, users can easily adapt production processes for small to medium-scale manufacturing. In line with sustainable practices, individual modules can be swapped out as needed – reducing resource consumption and enabling quick responses to changing operational requirements.

Also participating at the shared stand is MARTINS GmbH, a specialist in horizontal directional drilling with a strong emphasis on welding technology. Based in Schmallenberg, the company will be unveiling its mobile welding workstation, the “Weld-Cart”, for the first time. This compact, flexible welding system features integrated fume extraction within the torch and an innovative hose management design across the workspace. The result: enhanced safety, improved ergonomics and maximum mobility. Its modular design is compatible with all standard welding systems and can be customised to suit client needs.

ALPAKA GmbH & Co. KG will be showcasing its mobile welding cobot, which improves energy efficiency and welding seam quality through automation. At its core is the company’s proprietary “SimpliTech” system, which simplifies the creation of welding paths. In collaboration with the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt, ALPAKA aims to make robotic automation more widely accessible within the industry. The goal is to enable the robot to generate and adapt welding paths automatically – without requiring any programming knowledge from the user.

WeldNova GmbH also helps to modernise the production chain. Backed by over ten years of research by its scientific founding team, the company has developed a magnetically controlled welding process that reduces the number of layers needed in welding and significantly lowers material consumption in production. The contactless system is versatile and can be used in various applications – from laser beam welding to arc welding.

In addition, several start-ups will present their ideas on the Future Hub stage in hall 7 on Wednesday, 17 September 2025, from 3 p.m. onwards. Throughout the fair, this platform will host a wide-ranging programme focused on industry trends and developments.
