SpreeTec neXt is an interdisciplinary research alliance along the Spree River – from Lusatia to Berlin. Together with industry partners, Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg, Fraunhofer IAP, and Fraunhofer IWS are working on solutions for the energy transition and structural change in the region.
The focus lies on intelligent material systems and energy-efficient manufacturing technologies for decentralized energy systems. We combine digitalization, sustainability, and lifecycle assessment throughout the entire product life cycle.
As a scientific and technological platform, SpreeTec neXt connects research, industry, and society, supports the training of skilled professionals, and strengthens the innovative capacity of the Lusatia region.
The goal is to develop real and virtual technology chains that integrate customized materials, smart manufacturing processes, and forward-looking construction methods.
Our key areas of action:
• Simulation & Digitalization
• Customized Material Systems
• Manufacturing Technologies
• Sustainability
A particular focus is placed on sustainable recycling and repair strategies. From resource-efficient production to usage and recycling – for example, of metal- and plastic-based 3D-printed components, hybrid multilayer composites, or CFRP structures. The goal is a continuous material cycle that uses resources efficiently and enables durable, environmentally friendly energy technologies.
