Our patented technology significantly increases productivity in thick sheet welding. At the heart of this innovation is the use of an electromagnetic weld pool backing. This pushes the molten metal upwards contactless, reliably preventing unwanted molten metal from escaping onto the underside of the seam. The versatility of our solution—whether for flat plates or pipes—makes it unique. This process-independent principle can be used not only in laser hybrid welding, but also in established processes such as MSG and UP, as well as their double-wire tandem processes.
The enormous savings potential becomes clear, for example, in the laser hybrid welding of towers for wind turbines: by welding single-pass instead of multi-pass seams, we reduce the welding time from five days to just one day. This lowers costs by up to 90% and reduces CO₂ emissions by a factor of 15. The technology thus not only makes production extremely economical, but also significantly more sustainable.
