BEWC opens with over 820 exhibitors

Today marks the opening of BEIJING ESSEN WELDING & CUTTING (BEWC) 2025 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. The leading Asian trade fair for joining, cutting, and surfacing technologies runs until 20 June 2025. At this 28th edition of the international offshoot of the world’s leading trade fair SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN, more than 820 national and international exhibitors are presenting the latest processes, products, and solutions for key industries across approximately 40,000 square metres of exhibition space.

BEWC is regarded as a key industry platform for international exchange and the initiation of long-term business relations in Asia. This year’s host city, Shanghai, offers ideal conditions thanks to its strategic location and excellent infrastructure. The successful organisation of BEWC is based on many years of cooperation with strong partners such as the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society (CMES), the China Welding Association (CWA), and the DVS – German Welding Society.

Particular emphasis is placed on the German joint pavilion, which is once again supported by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy and organised by Messe Essen. “BEWC connects markets. With the German pavilion, we are specifically strengthening the visibility and competitiveness of German technology in Asia,” says Oliver P. Kuhrt, CEO of Messe Essen. A total of 13 companies from Germany – including Idealwerk, Berkenhoff, Orbitalum, Bernd Siegmund, Vitronic, August Rüggeberg, and Kjellberg – will be showcasing their products and services. The “Made in Germany” label stands for quality, precision, and technological leadership – and is drawing significant attention, particularly in Asia.

World’s leading trade fair in September

BEWC is already building a bridge to SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN 2025 in Essen, Germany – the world’s leading trade fair for joining, cutting, and surfacing technologies – where the global specialist community will gather again from 15 to 19 September. The event will feature country pavilions from China, France, Taiwan, the USA, and many other highlights.

Tomorrow, SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN will be hosting an international reception at BEWC. In addition to the German Consulate General in Shanghai, the AHK Greater China and international exhibitors from France, the Netherlands, Austria and Turkey, representatives of the German pavilion and leading welding associations such as the DVS, the American Welding Society and the Japan Welding Engineering Society are also expected to attend.

Complementing this, BEWC offers a varied supporting programme with specialist forums and conferences, including the IFWT Smart Welding Forum and a conference on high-energy processing and special processes.
